It also acts as a focus within your own organisation to develop best practices and promote continual improvement.
GIC encourages you to always improve your processes. As long as the improvement made was part of your formal system, it is deemed as a positive activity. Areas of improvement can often be identified during your internal audits.
The most common standard is based on the quality management standard ISO 9001. This has been adopted worldwide as the benchmark by which to measure a company’s systems capability. Its principles can be readily applied to any company. These are effective leadership, customer focus to meet both stated and implied needs, process approach based on well designed and managed processes. Decisions should be made based on hard data, not intuition, relationship management and engagement of people. It also emphasizes on effective use of skills and experience of your workforce for continual improvement.

Yes, international standards recognise that businesses are conducted in many different ways. GIC will adjust the duration of the assessment according the size and needs of the organisation. The standards also define products in four ways, namely the hardware, software, processed material and services. Your company may have one or a combination of these components. GIC will assist you to define the scope for your management system that will be assessed and appeared on your certificate.
We strongly recommend that you only seek certification from certification body that is accredited by international accreditation bodies. GIC Singapore is authorized to issue accredited certificate under two leading accreditation bodies, namely UKAS and JAS-ANZ and is locally accredited by SAC. These accreditations mean that you are assured that our auditors will conduct a professional and independent assessment of your organisation. The certification can hence be recognised internationally.
