Moving from ISO 9001:2008 to ISO 9001:2015

It has been almost two years now that the updated ISO 9001:2015 was implemented and we have prepared answers to some of the questions that most businesses have.

What is the Difference?
• More emphasis on Risk-Based Thinking
• Simplified language and unified structure as with the other Management Systems
• Idea of Management Leadership is adopted and the idea of “management representative” has been eliminated.

Must I Transit?
Yes. All certified under ISO 9001:2008 MUST transit to ISO 9001:2015 should you want to retain your certification.
ISO 9001:2015 has been improved to meet the needs in today’s business, therefore it is highly recommended that all holders of ISO 9001:2008 certifications transit to the updated ISO 9001:2015 as soon as possible.

When Must I Transit?
All certified under ISO 9001:2008 have a 3 year transition period from the date of the publication of the updated standard (September 2015). All certified under ISO 9001:2008 must transit to ISO 9001:2015 by September 2018 or their certificates will be invalid thereafter.

When Should I Transit?
You can choose to do this together with your recertification or during your yearly surveillance audit to save costs and time (as long as this is before September 2018). Contact us to find out when is your surveillance audit due and we will guide you forward.

What are the Benefits of Transiting Now?
Once you have successfully transited to ISO 9001:2015, your business will immediately be able to portray the use of updated standards, putting any business above their competitors without certification and also those still under ISO 9001:2008.
A set of updated ISO 9001:2015 will also be shared with you for your branding and marketing use too.
